Pilates has made a huge improvement to my life – I don’t know where I would be without Melanie’s superb instruction and expertise.
Marie France Adinall, Mumbles.
Pilates is a wonderful form of exercise for any age. I started after my GP advised me that there was no cure for my back and pain management was my only option.
Thanks to Practical Pilates I am now pain free without medication. The classes are well paced and differentiated to meet the needs of each individual.
You are taught how to challenge your body to enable you to become stronger in a safe and enjoyable way. Emma has a way of gently leading you to achieve something new in every session. I always walk out feeling a bit stronger and more confident than when I arrived.
I joined Practical Pilates two years ago after suffering a debilitating attack of inflammatory arthritis. I attend a weekly class and I definitely feel the benefit on a day-to-day basis.
I was also given a gift voucher for a 1-1 session for Christmas. Emma came to my house to teach me. She immediately made me feel at ease. I found out that she has a medical background and this combined with her Pilates knowledge has helped me to discover ways to improve that are specific to my body and needs.
Mel has been my Pilates instructor for five years. I originally took classes because of my ‘back problem’ which didn’t improve until Mel insisted that I have an x-ray which in turn led to my having a hip-resurfacing operation. Pilates helped me before, during and after the op and I now use it for maintenance (and sanity!). Mel’s professional approach is superb – she really knows her Pilates and tailors the class to fit individual needs. While enjoying our progress, we still manage to laugh at our limitations! Well worth the effort.

Practical Pilates, just what it says! After a high speed car accident 3 years ago which left me with a fused lumber spine and partially fused ankle, I had resigned myself to a life of constant pain and restrictive movement. Practical Pilates should have been my first rehab programme! My back and body feel like my own property again. This in turn has given me the cofidence ( through having less pain) to regain suppleness and strength resulting in a life changing experience. I feel so much happier and postive about the future. Thank you!
