Colette Leleu

I have been practising pilates for about 15 years but decided to learn to teach when on maternity leave after giving birth to my second child 6 years ago, an easy birth which I put it down to my pilates training.

The easy birth and the fact that I could get back into my jeans quickly afterwards gave me the push I needed to train as an instructor, and after 6 months of training in Swansea College I gained my qualification and have been passionate about teaching and learning about pilates ever since.

I enjoy teaching Pilates and hearing positive feedback from people who feel more energised and healthy from regular class attendance! I qualified as a  Level 3 Diploma teacher last year having done Pilates as a student over the last few years. One of the classes I teach for Practical Pilates is “Mother and baby Pilates” which is huge fun and a shared benefit for the mums and babies on many levels. I also teach PP's Thursday evening classes in Killay.

My background prior to Pilates was Yoga which I have practised for 20 years, gaining my teaching Diploma with the B.W.Y. In 2011. I added to this with the B.W.Y. Pregnancy Module in 2012 and teach Yoga and pregnancy Yoga alongside my Pilates classes.

I attend classes myself with Melanie and other members of her teaching team. They are all outstanding teachers and a joy to work with.

Emma Hopkins

Emma HopkinsI came to Pilates 5 years ago having suffered from back problems for 20 years.

I started in Mel's back care class, then added 2 further sessions a week until my life revolved around when I could do my next Pilates class - I loved it so much! Someone then suggested I learn to teach, and I finally qualified as a Level 3 Pilates instructor in June 2011.

I'm really keen get as many as people practicing and enjoying this amazing form of exercise.

Emma Kamio

Emma Kamio

Emma has practised Pilates under Melanie’s tuition since she first started teaching in Mumbles.

When Emma opened the Natural Health Service clinic in Killay in 2005 she asked Melanie to teach back care Pilates from the Centre, which proved to be a great success.

Melanie’s school developed at the clinic over time and she later encouraged Emma to become an instructor.

Emma gained her Pilates Teacher Training Certificate in May 2010, and went on to join the Practical Pilates team.
